IT PROJECT MANAGER/SAAS BIZ DEV

Client Starmedia.com is France Telecom's single largest Internet operation in the world. Their business objective was to create a Latin American wireless content portal in partnership with Cingular Wireless.

I was brought in to this 2 year project as lead IT project manager for their new Gen 3 wireless portal. Completed the development of the Gen 3 wireless content portal on time and on budget which resulted in the signing of a $25 million dollar contract with Cingular wireless to provide wireless content to US Hispanic wireless customers in Latin America.

• Analyzed business requirements, proposed solutions, worked closely with the sales, marketing, service, customer support, web design, and development teams to ensure that the wireless content portal solution supported the business
strategies of both Starmedia.com and client Cingular Wireless.

• Collaborated closely with the Starmedia and Cingular Wireless teams of Engineers, Data Scientists, Designers, and
Marketers throughout the initial wireless content portal design and development process, including user research,
meeting business goals and priorities, time and budget constraints as well as technical feasibility.

• A key liaison between the marketing, product, technical, and executive teams focusing on the scope, planning,
resources and budget required to deliver an evolving, complex, wireless content portal system. Communicated
regularly with all stakeholders to ensure their continued approval of user interface design and functionality.

• Assured success of the project through diligent project management with attention to detailed project planning, resource allocation, coordinated task assignments between companies, accountability, quick identification of issues and
fast resolutions.

• Completed product testing, supported the QA team, ensuring the tested functionality of the Gen 3 portal met all defined project requirements for both Starmedia and partner Cingular Wireless.Their business objective was to find large scale clients in Telecom to sell their large scale Saas content portal to.

Worked with Salesforce Biz Dev team on the creation of a powerpoint sales pitch deck presented to major Fortune 500 Telecom giants that resulted in the sale of the Starmedia.com wireless content portal SaaS product for $25 million dollars to telecom giant Cingular Wireless. The portal provided wireless/web content to
US Hispanic wireless customers in Latin America .

Biz Dev and PM tasks included:

  • Single point of contact for sales, marketing, and demand generation execution
  • Used analytics and insight reporting to find and verify new business opportunities developing an active, growing pipeline of opportunities to pursue.
  • Collaborated closely with the Starmedia and Cingular Wireless teams of Engineers, Data Scientists, and Designers, throughout the initial wireless content portal product design and development process, including user research, meeting business development sales goals and priorities, time and budget constraints as well as technical feasibility
  • Analyzed and anticipated complex business situations by taking into account the rapidly changing business environments, effects of emerging technologies, current and future market trends, and forward thinking strategies to "one up" the competition.

  • Communicated regularly with stakeholders Cingular Wireless and Starmedia to ensure their continued approval of user interface design and functionality.
